Meshmixer! Cow?

Its a bunny! Its a cow! Its a... rat? (yes, someone passing by as I put this gem together thought it was a rat) Not sure the species but we did it.

Coaster of IDK

Soooooo we don’t know the theme yet of these coasters. But, i know the sizes. Also, didn’t know if we would be limited to making it in Meshmixer so that was going to determine the level of complexity for the project. Pardon the toughness of these said sketches, really was brainstorming.

Thingiverse Exploring

First time exploring thingiverse, but I was really impressed by the selection. Unfortunately I had troubles navigating the site due to things not loading properly, but I managed to find a couple simple projects that seemed fun. 1: Game of Thrones House Bookmark, Lannister 1: Game of Thrones House Bookmarks (Lannister and Tyrell) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3449120 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3449993 2: Keychain / Smartphone Stand (Cat, dragon, hippo, and snail) 1: Game of Thrones House Bookmarks, Tyrell https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1587568/comments 3: Oddish Flower Pot https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2016317/makes 2: Keychain / Smartphone Stand  (Cat, dragon, hippo, and snail) UPDATE ! Teacup Update 2

Not sure if I mentioned it before, but the handle was the most difficult part to this project. I had to redo it twice because it continuously tried to become wobbly on me and so I kept having to change the pivot point of the model. Also, there were ridges on inside and outside of the handle, plus changes  in thickness at various points. The rear view in these screenshots displays these qualities really well, as well as the fact I originally built the handle at an angle mistakingly. It was a painful mistake to fix using edges and vertices and probably the worst part of the model to recreate. Additionally, the unevenness of lip was difficult. However, this feature wasn't difficult technically, but instead visually difficult because it never looked right besides in the pre-made camera views. It also was challenging to make sure the edges were at the right height and placement to give the wobbly illusion despite that the top view makes it obvious that the design is actually pret

Teacup Update 3

Happy to say the teacup is officially finished this week. I'm also happy with how well the finished product has turned out. The most challenging part was definitely the handle. From exuding the initial shape to adding extra loops to create the detail involved, Nothing about it was easy. The most difficult detail was the the spot the top of the handle connects to the cup. There is a lot happening with the shape and form of the handle there, and it doesn't follow much of the detail from the rest of the handle. Ultimately, I could only get the flow between the shapes to behave correctly while the top curve was flat, therefor I have to correct the curvature after with Maya's soft selection feature as a finishing touch. Thankfully the alteration had little affect on the extruding shapes from the handle and ended up resembling the actual cup.

Artist Research 1

Artist: Richard Long Website: http://www.richardlong.org Favorite work: “Berlin Circle” Richard Long’s work is very simple and, arguably, plain. Normally, this would bore me. However, I feel he uses the space which his work resides in as inspiration for the piece instead of forcing a piece to fit in just any given space. The colors of his materials rarely- if ever- contrast the space and for most texture is used in the same way. Yet, Long also takes a lot of liberty in contrast when it comes to the shapes of other works. The hit-or-miss tendencies with contrast creates engaging works that I believe improves every space they are implemented. My favorite aspects of Long’s artistry are in a tie between color and line. In terms of color, Long consistently uses very soft tones even in his darkest pieces. This creates a calming feeling as the art is observed, as well as an overall sense of unity between everything Long creates. On the other hand, Long’s linework is so zen-li
